RELATIONSHIP WITH THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

CIPA is related to the nervous system because when you hit, the protein that sends electrical impulses to the nervous system, does not produce the impulse causing the disease

The red impules are the electric impulse, and when you hit, the disease impede the creation of this impulses

CASES

Congenital insensitivity to pain is in the group of diseases with fewer cases in the world, in the world is estimated that between 400 cases and 25% are in the United States.
One case that is present in Latin America is that of Roberto Salazar, a child of 7 years, Mexican who was born with the syndrome C.I.P.A.
Roberto is one of the few people in the world suffering from this disease,  Dr. Felicia Axelrod is the doctor who has helped Robert with his illness, she says that when they break a leg Roberto get up and keep walking as if nothing.Roberto had to get all the baby teeth it tore pieces of their own language, It has also been damaged hands and you must be fed through a stomach tube, by not distinguishing between cold and heat, a meal too hot it could burn. And this not only affects the child, economically affected parents because they ensure that the treatments are very expensive and is leaving in ruinThis disease causes discrimination and rejection by their community and ensuring that your condition is dangerous and contagious.

He is Roberto and he suffers CIPA

TREATMENT

To treat CIPA, naloxone may be used. Naloxone is a chemical that acts within the nervous system of the body by blocking the nervous system from causing the inactions that occur within the group of cells that receives the message to initiate the sensation of pain, heat, or cold.
CIPA is a difficult disease to treat, because there are many problems to be treated, one of the most difficult problems to solve, is unable to sweat, The problems of the nerve fibers become very complicated to treat. In other words, CIPA is actually several diseases combined.

This is Naloxone:

CHARACTERISTICS AND EFFECTS

CHARACTERISTICS:
The congenital insensibility to pain with anhidrosis has a lot of characteristics that allows the doctors know that you have CIPA:
some of there are......

*The child that not feel pain, scratches the eyes very hard, causing loss of vision.
*Can suffer hypothermia and extreme heat.
*In addition to not feel pain, they do not experience other nerve related sensations.
*Mental retardation as result of hypothermia.
* Infection and scarring of the tongue.

EFFECTS

Patients with this disorder are very susceptible to harm themselves in areas that would normally be protected from injury solely because of pain. The main effects of this disorder are: lack of any sensation or pain, injuries to arms, legs and oral structures, fever during seasons of heat due to the inability to sweat, mental retardation, infection and scarring of the tongue, lips and gums, chronic infections of bones and joints, fractures, multiple scars, osteomyelitis and joint deformities, which may need amputation. Patients with this genetic disorder may not be able to feel aphysical orgasm.

People with this disorder can suffer major injuries without even noticing.

INTRODUCTION

C.I.P.A is a disease that affects the nervous system, it is produced by a mutation that prevents the development of new nerve cells making you dont feel pain, cold, heat, and do not produce sweat.(wikipedia, 2010)
CIPA starts from the first day after birth and can be fatal within 3 years of life, is fatal because the childrens to not feel pain, lose their sight from rubbing your eyes too hard, or because the children can not control its production of sweat making it unable to control the temperature.(wikipedia, 2010)

This video show, how works the pain and the nervous system.
